Well what a summer it’s been for the Bacana crew, and what an action packed foray of gigs we have to report back too! Since our last post advertising the amazing Gwyl Arall, we can now tick “play in a Castle” off our “to do” list, and, we not only played in a Castle but got to share the bill with some of Wales’ finest musicians, Yr Ods, Lleuwen Steffan and the one and only Geraint Jarman. We arrive for sound check around 5ish and then head over to Oren for some of Gert’s fine cuisine to provide us with sustenance for the gig. Banda Bacana had great fun at Telford’s Warehouse – a cool venue, fluffy crowd, and great sound! We got a this lovely feedback from the venue:
I was there for the whole show and thought you guys where great. The crowd was really into it and you got everybody moving. It’s ace to have such an entertaining band in the venue and I will for sure look to get you back at some point.
Cheers, Mike D – Telford’s Warehouse
Conwy Food Festival
Friday 26 0ct, Conwy Quay
Conwy Quay will be rocking with a great program of music this weekend as part of this weekend’s Conwy Feast. Banda Bacana will be headlining Friday night, in the heady atmosphere of the Real Ale Marquee, supported by great new Salsa band, Que Rico. This is a night not to be missed – and it’s FREE!
Here’s an aerial photo from Google. It’s interesting to see how much green space has disappeared in the short time since the photo was taken.
Banda Bacana have had a fabulous summer, festivals, parties, weddings and our favourite pub gigs! And now we’re getting ready for the autumn season with some new world beats and eclectic lyrics. After a bank holiday stonker at The Heights in Llanberis (thanks to the team at The Heights and everyone that came along – especially those dressed to impress!) the next gig on the calendar is Bangor Apple Fest on 15th September in the Syrcus Circus big top on ‘The Old Bowling Green’ in the centre of Bangor next to the Town Hall. It starts at 12pm to 6pm. Entrance to the entertainment tent: £3/£1.50 for children under 10. The Bacanas are on at 3pm in the Big Top – check out the full program on Facebook
