Two Decades of Music, Community and Dancing Feet
For over 20 years, Banda Bacana has been proud to be part of the vibrant and diverse live music scene across North Wales and beyond. What started as a small musical collaboration in Bangor has grown into one of North Wales’ most recognisable live world music bands, performing everywhere from village halls and community events to major festivals, theatres, weddings, parties, and international stages.
Looking back over the last two decades, we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us, shared a stage with us, danced to our music, organised events, and helped keep live music thriving throughout Wales.

Well done to everyone who made it to the boxing night regular at the Vic (…no… not that one) despite the horrendous weather and flooding. For those that missed the Jukes gig – and that includes one of the musicians stranded in Colwyn Bay – you may want cheer yourself up by coming to another wet and windy corner of Wales to see some of the Jukes musicians playing in the equally funky Banda Bacana.
Bringing some West African sunshine to Snowdonia, Debademba are guitarist Abdoulaye Traore and singer Mohamed Diaby. Playing their unique mix of Ethiopian sounds, Afro-funk, African salsa and blues with Spainish and Arabic influence.
