Thank you to everyone who came to our very superstitious afro latin party, for bringing your dancing shoes and festive sparkle. You made the night for us Bacanas by dancing from the first number, right till the very end.
Loads of people came in fancy dress too – what a creative crowd we have in North Wales. No 13 marathon runner won the prize for the best fancy dress, well done Janey. We had Santa’s elves who brought their own mantle piece, Tia Dalma the mysterious soothsayer (amazing costume Kit!) an unlucky peacock (with a lovely homemade peacock headdress made by Ren), and a painter and decorator who had an incident with a ladder (ingenious and bonkers Anita!)
Thank you to Maggie and co for the wonderful decor, the huge flower lanterns and fairy lights transformed the room. And thanks to the door ladies and helpers (Elin, Ruth and Kit).
Also thank you to Wayne and his team from Bethesda Rugby club who looked after us. The raffle raised £65 for the youth team. We had some great prizes donated from local businesses including: Foxons Fishing Tackle (https://www.foxons.com/) and Unearthed Gems (https://unearthedwelshgems.etsy.com/) – Thank you to you too.
It was a properly festive knees up, to celebrate Christmas, get rid of the winter blues and of course the end of the 20th year that the Bacanas have been together. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Here’s to 20 more years!
PS Don’t forget the Jukes on Boxing Night for some more rhythm, blues, grooving tunes and soulful melodies.
